United States Coast Guard Captain Josh Anderson is an award-winning fisherman who has been fishing the Virginia and North Carolina waters for 25 years.  Josh has a vast knowledge of area waters and is devoted to you catching big fish and ensuring a safe trip.We target certain fish depending on the time of year and weather conditions to ensure you a great catch. We offer half and full-day charters or we can customize one that fits your schedule.

Growing up Virginia Beach, Va., it was inevitable that Captain Josh would become a fisherman and currently runs the charter boat, Frogpile. Josh started fishing as soon as he could hold a rod and reel.  Fishing on a charter for the first time at age 12, he caught his first white marlin, and at 16-years-old, he starting mating on an offshore charter. Josh became a licensed captain in 2007. Josh loves to fish! Specializing in catching blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, swordfish, bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, big eye tuna, mahi mahi (dolphin), wahoo, king mackerel, amberjack, sea bass, tilefish, grouper, bluefish, rockfish (striped bass), cobia, Spanish mackerel, red drum (redfish), black drum, flounder, shark, and much more. You name it; Josh has caught lots of it!

A few years back, Captain Josh recorded Virginia Beach’s Largest Tuna of the Year at 198 pounds. In 2007, he registered the second largest King mackerel in Virginia at 57 pounds and the largest bluefin tuna in 2006 at 207 pounds. In a nutshell, Captain Josh has fished the mid-Atlantic region his entire life and knows all the inside tips and tricks. He is able to predict the patterns and behaviors of the local fisheries and has researched to find the ins and outs and of course the “secret spots.”

Sails, Marlins, Amberjacks, Mahi … oh my!
