Pound for pound, bluefish are perhaps the strongest fighting fish in the ocean, and every spring fish in the 10-15 lb class invade the bays. Using the virtual anchor, we will chum the water to bring these bruisers right to the boat!
Summer flounder, known as fluke, are the prized targets of summer. Ranging from 2 to 10+ pounds, these delicious flatties hide on the bottom waiting for something to eat to pass by their noses. Because of this, we peacefully drift along with the winds and tides in order to cover area and find them. We will use live, cut or artificial baits, and if you’ve got a secret weapon feel free to bring it!
Striped bass are targeted by anglers of all kinds, almost all year long. On the Jenny Lynn, we have a few opportunities to get them throughout the year. In early spring, small fish can be found with perch and winter flounder in the warmer shallower waters. Throughout the summer, there are “resident fish” to be caught. These fish have decided not to migrate with the others. Summer stripers are quite a surprise. The main Striper season is fall into winter, where we will be drifting baits, bouncing Buck tails or throwing shiny metals at them.
